Emily's Music Video

My 14 year old daughter Emily has been wanting to make her own music video for a while and it has finally happened!  She recorded herself singing the song Try by Colibie Caillat a few weeks ago.  Then on Saturday Scott took her to nearby Beaver lake park and spent a few hours filming her.  He is a good dad.  She had been begging us to film her ever since she recorded the song.   Then Emily took the videos Scott filmed and combined them in a creative way to make this video.  Here is the completed product.  It is pretty awesome. Make sure you click on the wheel so you can watch it in HD.

Halloween 2014

Another Halloween has come and gone.  We carved our pumpkins, had fun at the trunk or treat, and went trick or treating.  Scott carved the super cool T-Rex pumpkin for Nathan.

I attended the trunk or treat and Halloween carnival at our church with our girls.  Nathan still thinks Halloween is very scary and won't attend so Scott stayed home with him.  Megan dressed up as a queen of hearts (she also has mermaid facepaint on in this picture).   Emily was Mike from Monsters Inc.  She pained that shirt herself and spray painted a red fire hat blue for her costume.  Melissa was a cute ladybug.  Emily kept very busy at the trunk or treat and carnival running the face paint station. Next year she hopes she can enjoy the carnival a little more.
Holly ran a ring toss game with her friends.
Then on Halloween night Holly and her friend went to two Halloween parties hosted by their band friends.  Both Holly and her friend bought dresses and then added accessories to the dresses (well their moms did) to turn them into Belle and Cinderella short gowns.
I took the little girls trick or treating in our neighborhood for 2 hours while Scott handed out candy at home.  Nathan was happy that his sisters shared their candy with him.

Today I am thankful:

*that the two school Halloween parties that I helped with were a success.  I made these cookies for the kindergarten party and my family really did not eat them.  Luckily I had a few left over that I brought home from the party for them to eat.
*that this is my view out our upstairs Hallway window each day.  These fall leaves are just beautiful.
 * that I got my conference Ensign in the mail.  I love watching the conference talks on the computer while following along in my Ensign.  I sure love the inspired talks of the Prophets and apostles.
