Sticker fun

I was at Michaels craft store this week and bought this pack of stickers for $1 for my kids.  I knew they would have some fun with them.  Moustaches are in right now and this book had lots of sticker moustaches in it.DSC01609

These three got right to work and make lots of fun pictures.  Even Nathan, who doesn’t like to color made some cute pictures.  Then we pulled out some moustaches on sticks (that we had left over from a bridal shower I threw last year) for some cute photos of the kids.DSC01611

There were lips on sticks too!DSC01613

Then they put some stickers onto their faces.  These three kids have a lot of fun together.DSC01620

In other news:

*Garage sale season is back and I couldn’t resist going.  Nathan now owns a lot of dinosaurs.  DSC01551

*I’ve been going to weekly camp meetings to get ready for girls camp.  The meetings always last several hours but luckily the camp director has a son that Nathan loves to play with.  It is such a blessing.DSC01583

*We had a nice Memorial day even though it was rainy.  Our Standage cousins came to visit.DSC01579

*Nathan had his last day of farm preschool.  For about half the year he liked preschool and the other half he didn’t want to go but he was very excited about going to the party on the last day.  The kids got to go on trails, swim in the duck pond, ride horses (although Nathan chose not to), eat hot dogs and chips and make smores.DSC01636

Here is his class and teacher.  Some of the kids had been swimming in the pond so that’s why they aren’t dressed.nathan's preschool class

Mothers Day 2013

For my mothers day gift I took a break from being a mother and went shopping by myself.  This is what I ask for every year.  I went to Kohl's and tried on clothes.  No children complained or ran around the dressing room.   I  found a few new clothes for summer.  Then I went to Home Depot and Fred Meyer and bought flowers for our yard.  I love looking at all the flowers and picking my favorite without feeling rushed.  Then when I came home I planted the flowers in peace while Scott fed the kids lunch.  It was a great day.DSC01512

On Sunday we celebrated mothers day by having Holly drive our family to church.  This is the first time she has driven the whole family somewhere.DSC01516

The kids in the backseat were a little nervous but excited to see how Holly would drive.  We made it to church safely.  The members of our ward all smiled and waved when they saw that Holly was driving.DSC01515

Sunday evening we enjoyed a nice dinner at my parents’ house followed by pictures in the front yard.  My brother Bryce was trying to take a picture of my parents to include with their mission application.  Yay for missions!  As people drove by I’m sure they were wondering what was going on.DSC01520

Here is Bryce in action as the photographer.  Don’t my parents look great?bryce taking picture

Today I am thankful that

*Both Holly and Emily have fun Friday night plans with friends.  Holly has two friends at our house and Emily went to a dinner/movie night at her friend’s house.

*The adult session of stake conference is tomorrow.  I just love the adult sessions and since our girls can babysit Scott and I both get to attend.

*Scott is playing baseball with the little kids in the backyard and they are all having a great time together.

Toys for Sale and a Sunny Weekend

We have lots of toys at our house so I figured it was time to get rid of some that we don't use.  I pulled out our Lego Duplo blocks and took pictures of them to post of craigslist.  We have quite a collection from years of garage sale shopping.

 Here are our Duplo figures.

We have lots of vehicles too.  I posted the pictures on craigslist and listed everything for sale for $60.  I had several people email me about the toys on the first day.

But after I got the Duplos out my three little kids were having so much fun with them that I decided to delete the listing.  I guess I will try to sell them again in a few months.  Apparently the kids do still like them.  :)

My kids had Friday, May 3rd off of school.  The big girls headed out of town for ward youth conference and I took the three little kids to the zoo.  We bought a seed stick in the bird room and a bird hopped right on my hand to gobble up all the seeds.  It was kind of cool.  When I got home I noticed that a bird had pooped on the back of my sweater too.  Now that is not so cool.

Seeing this monkey was the best part of our zoo visit.  The monkey came to a branch right by the window and just stared at us for about five minutes.  I think it wanted to be our friend.

The big girls headed to Vashon Island (about 1 1/2 hours away) for youth conference.  They got to ride a ferry there.  Emily is the one in the middle with the green shirt.

One day everyone went to the beach (Puget sound) and played in the sand, collected shells, and a few brave kids even jumped into the water.  Holly is posing in a drift wood teepee with her friends.

Here is Emily with her Beehive friends.

And this picture is from the ferry ride back to Tacoma.  That is Mount Rainer in the distance.  The weather was perfect!

I love hugging my kids especially little Nathan.  Scott snapped this picture of me stealing a hug from him.

Megan and I attended a stake activity days activity on Saturday.  My mom was teaching one of the classes since she is in the stake primary presidency.  It is pretty cool being in the same stake as my parents.

We were taught how to make cool weavings using old CDs.  This is how mine looked when I started it .

And this is what they all looked like at the end.  Beware--these each took over 1 hour to make!

Here is Megan with her friends ready to go home.  My mom made the popcorn and my daughter Holly created the labels.  They say "you are a daughter of God".
Today I am thankful
*for the many sunny days we have had and all the flowers and bushes in blossom.
*that I finally made it to Kohls with all of my girls so they could get some shorts.  They had all been complaining that they needed new ones.
*that Scott has been taking Holly out driving.  I have done it a few times and it makes me sooo nervous.
