When I was young my family would vacation in Utah each summer. We are carrying on the tradition with our children since Scott's parents live there.
On the first day of our vacation we drove to Utah. It is a 12 hour drive through Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and then into Utah.
On the second day of our vacation we visited my Grandma who is now 92 at her rest home. They have Mormon church services at 10am there and we attended with her. It was a very special service because my Grandma was one of the speakers and she did a great job. My cousin came with her four girls to hear the talk too.
After the meeting we took pictures and the kids explored the rest home and found some fun animals. On the third day of our trip we climbed the Y at Brigham Young University. Scott and I were both students there and this was our first time to climb it since we graduated. Holly climbed it with us. The view from the top was amazing.
Holly on the trail with the Provo temple in the distance.
On the fourth day of our trip we were at our family reunion in Herriman, Utah. We rented a big house on a hill and all 30 of us stayed there together. The house had 9 bedrooms so there was room for everyone.
There was a small mountain behind the house and we decided to climb it with some of the kids.About half way up most of the kids headed back.
But Nathan kept on going to the top. He carried the stick with him to protect himself from rattlesnakes. Fortunately we didn't see any just a lot of cacti.
Today I am thankful that:
*we are back at home. Trips are fun but home is best.
*Emily has plans to go to a lake with her friend for a few days.
*Our DVR machine recorded lots of fun shows for us while we were in Utah which we are watching now.

Looks like you had lots of fun and adventures. Too bad we couldn't time our trips to Utah to be there when your family was there. I love Nathan, the mountain climber and the picture of Grandma Moulton with the great-granddaughters is priceless.
