My friend Melanie (who I know from church) is expecting a baby girl soon. She has two sons already. Heather and I decided to throw her a baby shower. I made the little sign below and took the other things with me to display at the shower. Heather volunteered to have the shower at her house.
Heather is on the left, Melanie is in the middle and that's me on the right. We had a nice spread of brunch items. I made the blueberry muffins, a sausage casserole and brought fruit.
After eating we played a few games. The first game was a get to know Melanie quiz. The second game was matching animals with the name for their baby. There were some tricky animals on the list. The winner of this game only got 20 of 26 animals correct. The final game was to guess how big Melanie's tummy was around. Each lady cut a piece of string that we later measured on Melanie's tummy. Big yummy candy bars were given to the winner of each game.
Here are some of the ladies hard at work on the games.
Melanie showed us some of her quilts including this quilt that she is making for her daughter's crib. She is very talented. Then we opened gifts.
This big teddy bear was a surprise. Heather wrote down who all of the gifts were from.
After she opened each gift we laid them out on the table. She got so many adorable things. This baby is going to be very stylish! We can't wait to meet the new baby when she makes her appearance next month.
