A Special Walker Weekend

Last week we had a mini Walker reunion with Scott's parents and his sister and her family.  The fun started on Thursday when Scott's sister dropped off Grandma and Grandpa Walker at our house.  They had stayed with her family for a few days and then stayed with us for a few days.

While the adults visited downstairs, the cousins played upstairs.  The boys went right for the legos.
The girls pulled out Barbies and stuffed animals.

After lunch we went out back for some swing set fun.  I think this is first time we have had 6 kids swinging at once.

Then we played in the water.  It was a warm day so the kids were happy to cool off.  The adults visited in the shade.

After our water fun Scott's sister and her family headed home to welcome their other Grandparents who had just flown into town.

On Friday we had the Walkers to ourselves and we took them blueberry picking.
Later Scott's mom made the most delicious fresh blueberry pie with a yummy graham cracker crust.
Saturday morning we headed to the Seattle temple for the big event.  Scott's sister was having a new adopted daughter sealed to their family in the temple.  It was a beautiful day and the sealing ceremony was very tender.
While we waited for their family to come out of the temple Grandma Walker snapped this photo of our family.
Then I took this nice picture of Scott with his mom.
 Finally the family emerged.
Lots of pictures were taken by a professional photographer.  I can't wait to see them.

After the photo session we headed to Applebees for lunch.  The kids sat on one end of the table. They were all surprising well behaved.
The adults sat at the other end.  It was so fun to visit with everyone and eat delicious food that none of us had to prepare.
On Sunday we attended church with Scott's sister and her family in their ward.  Both sets of Grandparents were there so it was a really special meeting.  Then we had lunch together at Scott's sister's house.  It was a great weekend!

What a neat weekend! That's wonderful that the Walkers were able to spend time with your family. How old and where is the new adopted daughter from? Thanks for sharing your fun summer activities! Keep posting! Love you all!

I love being able to see all the pictures; it helps to really convey the experiences. I'm glad that it all went so well, especially the day in and around the temple.

I always love reading your posts and catching up with what you and your sweet family have been up to. It sounds like a busy, but fun, summer. It's great you live so close to family and get to make memories with them!
